A conversation with Senator Joe Biden
________________________________

August 15, 2007 | On August 9, 2007, Senator Joe Biden was interviewed by Charlie Rose. The video and respective page reference was unavailable until August 11, hence the added delay CSE experienced getting the link to you now.

With the mainstream media focus on the Obama, Clinton and Edwards campaigns for the White House in 2008, little of Joe Biden's comments, ideas and plans - based upon his extensive experience - share in the limelight. It is important that Joe Biden is heard and understood - even if you lean toward the other candidates. Senator Biden, in the linked video, points out that the other candidates are oblivious to current U.S. foreign policy and brings into question their respective leadership capability. Unlike most politicos seeking the highest office, Biden avoids speaking ill of others, compliments aspects of their candidacy that he agrees with and respectfully argues those points where he does not agree.

Joe Biden took office on January 3, 1973, at age 30, becoming the fifth-youngest U.S. Senator in United States history. He is the Chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations in the 110th Congress and has served in that position in the past, as well as having served as Chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary.

On Iraq, Biden believes in establishing a federal system with Shia, Sunni and Kurdish regions/states where specific sectarian issues can be better resolved within that particular region. He further proposes a weak central government in Bagdad that would regulate defence, currency/commerce and other elements of commonality under representation from the separate regions/states.

At this writing, a transcript of the "conversation with Joe Biden" is unavailable. Even so, taking the time to view the video of the conversation should be enlightening to anyone interested in America's future leadership.

The video can also be accessed here at the Charlie Rose Web Site.
