Cost of War

February 6, 2007 | Since you read here, you might be familiar with Democracy Now? Fairly non-mainstream media in relation to the millions of viewers who watch CNN, Fox et. al.

There was an interview published today on line that you might find interesting. Soldiers Returning from Iraq and Afghanistan: The Long-term Costs of Providing Veterans Medical Care and Disability Benefits by Linda Bilmes, has the Pentagon back-peddling on numbers of wounded while larger projected costs of war in terms of debt and future debt are highlighted, albeit briefly.

While it is still fashionable to place a "Support Our Troops" magnet on our automobiles, maybe we can point these patriots to the shortcomings of the Veteran's Administration and the future shortcomings that will occur if nothing is done.

The Democracy Now interview is here.

The study PDF and Abstract is located here.
