December 28, 2007 | GOP presidential candidate Huckabee plays the irrational fear card in the wake of the death of Benazir Bhutto - shot and killed by Islamic extremists in Pakistan yesterday.
Huckabee - "We ought to have an immediate, very clear monitoring of our borders and particularly to make sure if there's any unusual activity of Pakistanis coming into the country." Given the words he has reportedly spoken, does Huckabee believe newly infected Pakistanis will soon run across the US border and start attacking at will? Why would "Pakistanis", in particular, now take up the gauntlet of terror and attempt to travel across the globe to attack America? Does Huckabee believe Pakistanis are inseparable from al Qaeda extremists who have claimed responsibility for Bhutto's death and are believed to have carried out the assassination? Can someone who speaks such as this even remotely be considered as a presidential candidate? Read Huckabee for yourself.
